Congratulations to Stockport Council ICT services who have won the prestigious IT Service Management Forum award for Service Innovation 2009. Stockport Council were the feature of a recent Systems Thinking Review article Computer says no! Rethinking support services at Stockport Council, describing what happened to their service when they changed their thinking. Performance in their ICT improved from 17% to 80% one-stop and in their HR services from 0% one-stop to 89% one-stop. Phil Badley, Service Director, approached the change strategically and used the support services as a showcase for systems thinking.
The awards recognise outstanding achievements and significant contribution to the world of IT Service Management, showcasing the people and organisations that are at the forefront of the IT Service Management industry. The award is open to both private and public sectors.

Andy Kirkham, Head of ICT at Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, said that 'systems thinking changed the way that we thought about things.' He continued that Vanguard Consulting did not do this to us, they enabled us, the staff did it for themselves.'
